Workplace violence is defined as any behavior or action involving physical force, threats (verbal or written), and sexual advances intended to hurt, cause damage, or psychological harm to an individual.

Potential sources of violence include patients, visitors, intruders or co-workers.

lt is the duty of supervisors or departmental heads of the involved workplace to facilitate notification and investigation of cases using Notification of Workplace Violence Form. Any police report, assailant details and witnesses’ statements should be supplemented with the notification.
